Our Mission
Beyond the Block NYC’s mission is to provide inner-city youth with meaningful programs and experiences to go "beyond the block”, in hopes to reduce violence and promote positive youth development through mentorship, professional development and transformative experiences. Ensuring that young people have the resources, skills and connections to thrive outside of the confines of their neighborhood. With innovative programming, enrichment and community engagement, we aim to foster the next-generation of future leaders.
Our Goals
To provide a safe space for youth to engage in recreational activities.
To reduce (gun) violence, primarily between youth.
To provide youth with free programs and services such as basketball, cheerleading, dance, career building, and mentoring.
To alleviate the effects of poverty by offering free to low-cost services, counseling, and psycho-education workshops.
To raise the graduation rate, ensure that youth are college/trade school ready.
