Beyond the Block NYC’s is a 501c3 non-profit organization created to provide inner-city youth with meaningful programs and experiences to go "beyond the block”.

In hopes to reduce violence and promote positive youth development we provide mentoring, enrichment activities, and academic support.

The “block” is a neighborhood staple. It’s a place where people go to see their long-time friends, get their favorite food, learn from elders, or even experience trauma. At BTB, we want adolescents to experience the best of what the “block” has to offer while cultivating the skills needed to live a sustainable life.

Our Founder

Bianca Signez is a Brooklyn native and Licensed Social Worker whose values center community, social justice, and mental health. As a graduate of Fordham University, Bianca began her career working at a foster care agency in Brooklyn as a case manager. During her time as a case manager, Bianca identified the gap between geographic location and access to quality resources. To provide a safe space for youth to engage in recreational activities.

To reduce (gun) violence, primarily between youth.
To provide youth with free programs and services such as basketball, cheerleading, dance, career building, and mentoring.
To alleviate the effects of poverty by offering free to low-cost services, counseling, and psycho-education workshops.
To raise the graduation rate, ensure that youth are college/trade school ready.
